Biography
Peter Malyshev was born on July 19, 1910 in the village of Zhilino (now - the Rylsky district of the Kursk region ). After elementary school, he worked on a collective farm . In May 1928 he moved to Stalin (now Donetsk ), where he worked at the Chekist mine No. 10. At the beginning of World War II he was in occupation. After the liberation of Stalin in September 1943, Malyshev was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. Since October of that year - on the fronts of World War II, he was a shooter of the 1118th Infantry Regiment of the 333rd Infantry Division of the 6th Army of the 3rd Ukrainian Front . He distinguished himself during the battle of the Dnieper [1] .
On November 28, 1943, Malyshev crossed the Dnieper in the area of the village of Kanevskoye, Zaporizhzhya District, Zaporizhia Region, Ukrainian SSR, and took an active part in the battles for the capture and retention of the bridgehead. In the battle, Malyshev was the first to make a passage in a wire fence, which contributed to the success of the assault on enemy trenches. In fights on the bridgehead, he repeatedly raised his comrades in the attack. In the battle for Kanevskoye, he threw grenades at three buildings, thus clearing them of the enemy [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 22, 1944, for the “exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown”, Red Army soldier Pyotr Malyshev was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal " [1] .
After the war, Malyshev was demobilized. He lived in Donetsk, continued to work at the same mine number 10 “Chekist”. He died on May 23, 1976, was buried in the Donetsk cemetery of mine No. 29 [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and the Red Star , along with a number of medals [1] .
