Biography
Alexey Malyshev was born on October 8, 1926 in the village of Panovo (now the Laishevsky district of Tatarstan ). After finishing five grades of the school, he worked as a turner in Kazan . In November 1943, Malyshev was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . Since February 1944 - on the fronts of World War II [1] .
By February 1945, Sergeant Aleksey Malyshev commanded the division of the 696th Infantry Regiment of the 383rd Infantry Division of the 33rd Army of the 1st Belorussian Front . He distinguished himself during the forcing of the Oder . On February 5, 1945, Malyshev crossed the Oder in the vicinity of the city of Fürstenberg (now within the boundaries of Eisenhüttenstadt ) and took an active part in the battles for the capture and retention of the bridgehead on its western shore. During the crossing, he saved the life of the company commander. In battles at the bridgehead, Malyshev participated in repelling three German counterattacks, penetrating the German rear and blew up the bunker [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 24, 1945, Sergeant Alexei Malyshev was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .
After the war, Malyshev continued to serve in the Soviet Army. He graduated from the Perm infantry school. For a long time he was the Lazarevsky district military commissar of the city of Sochi . In October 1985, with the rank of colonel, he was transferred to the reserve [1] . He died on November 24, 1998, was buried in Sochi [2] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and a number of medals [1] .
In honor of Malyshev, a school and a sports club in his homeland are named [2] .
On May 9, 2014, in the village of Lazarevskoye, on the territory of the new children's sports center on Malysheva Street, a monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union Alexei Petrovich Malyshev was unveiled [3] .
