Biography
Alexander Malyshev was born on September 30, 1916 in the village of Zaladye (now does not exist, flooded during the construction of the Rybinsk reservoir ). After finishing seven classes of the school he worked on a collective farm . In 1937, Malyshev was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. He participated in the battles of the Soviet-Finnish war, being an assistant commander of a machine-gun platoon of the 252nd rifle regiment of the 70th rifle division of the 7th army of the North-Western Front [1] .
In January 1940, Malyshev participated in battles on the coast of the Vyborg Bay with Finnish troops trying to retreat from Vyborg (now the city of the Leningrad Region ). Having taken command of the platoon, he took an active part in the defeat of the headquarters of the enemy battalion in the area of the city of Koivisto (now Primorsk ). On February 27, 1940, Malyshev's platoon was the first to break into the village of Keri northwest of Koivisto, and on March 7 the first to land on the island of Santa Sari, which contributed to the successful operations of the entire battalion [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 21, 1940, for the “exemplary performance of command missions on the front against the Finnish White Guard and courage and heroism shown at the same time”, junior commander of the platoon Alexander Malyshev was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal Star ” under number 447 [1] .
He participated in the battles of World War II. After a severe wound in August 1941 and prolonged treatment in July 1942, Lieutenant Malyshev was discharged due to disability. He lived and worked first in the village of New Nekouz, Yaroslavl region, then in Yaroslavl . He died on February 24, 1991, was buried in the Western Civil Cemetery of Yaroslavl [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and a number of medals [1] .
