Geography
The village is located on the left bank of the Melgunovka River at the confluence of the Molokanka River.
History
The rapid construction of the village began in 1920 . By this time, the village already had 70 yards. The events of the civil war bypassed the village. Until 1929, peasants lived alone, and at the end of 1930 began to organize a collective farm. In 1931, the first tractor appeared. The collective farm was constantly lagging: low yields, poor labor discipline, the constant rotation of the chairmen, who were mostly newcomers, but by 1940 the collective farm had moved from lagging behind to advanced.
With the outbreak of World War II, the collective farm was kept only on rice. The collective farmers worked day and night: women, old people, children. Five villagers were awarded medals " For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. »About 30 people went to the front, but only three returned. In the village there is a monument to the fallen villagers.
After the war, the collective farm was again lagging behind. From 1956 until the mid -60s , rice was not grown, but planted potatoes, vegetables, sown cereals. Fundamental transformations began after the May Plenum of the Central Committee of the CPSU of 1966, which adopted a grandiose program for land reclamation. The construction of the agro-industrial complex at the Melgunovsky state farm was announced by the All-Union Komsomol shock building. On February 1, 1967, a new rice-growing state farm “Melgunovsky” appeared on the district map.
During the years of perestroika, the state farm experienced an economic crisis, but now investors from South Korea have funded the restoration of rice systems, and since 2004 they have been sowing rice, getting a good harvest. [2]
Before the reform of 2015, it was part of the Novoselishchensky rural settlement [3] .
