Career

Riccardo began his career at the La Spezia Club from Serie B. In the 1942/43 season, he played 19 matches and scored 3 goals. Because of the war, his career was interrupted and only in 1945 the striker returned to football. That season, the Italian played 16 matches for Como , in which he managed to score 3 goals. In 1946, Carapellese made his debut in Serie A as part of Milan . For several years, Riccardo was a player in the starting lineup, scored a lot and began to play for the national team. In 1949, Karapellese moved to Torino. The cause of the transition was a plane crash at Superga, in which the entire main team was killed. In 1952, he moved to Juventus , in which the striker spent 20 (according to other sources 17) matches (9 goals scored). In 1953, Riccardo Carapellese filled the ranks of the Genoa club, for which he played four years. The last years of his career, Karapellese spent in the lower divisions. In Serie A, he spent 318 matches and scored 111 goals.

Italy Team

As part of the national team, the striker will debut on November 9, 1947 in Vienna in a match with the Austrians (1-5), in which he scored a goal. In 1950, Karapellese took part in the World Cup, in the drawing of which he managed to score two goals against Sweden and Paraguay. The last time he played for the national team on April 25, 1956 was with the Brazilians (3-0). In total, the football player played 16 matches and scored 10 goals.
