Jiffy Lube is a network of more than 2,000 service centers throughout North America , including Canada . The number of customers is 24 million motorists per year. The headquarters is located at the base in Houston , Texas . At the moment, the company offers high-quality service consisting in the replacement of oil and filter.

History

The first Jiffy Lube store was opened in Ogden , Utah, back in 1971 . Then, over the course of several years, the Jiffy Lube centers spread throughout the state until James Hindman bought 7 branches in 1971 and moved to Baltimore , opening them there. This point in time is considered to be the date of foundation of the company.

In 1987, the company already had 1,020 branches, and by 1989 it began to open branded stores.

By 1991, the company was bankrupt, and, as a result, became a subsidiary of Penzoil .

In 1998, the company already had 1,541 stores.

In 2002, the Jiffy Lube brand was eventually acquired by Shell Oil.
