Biography
Boris Malakhov was born on May 18, 1923 in the village of Belovo (now a city in the Kemerovo region ). After finishing seven classes of the school, he worked at a sawmill in Yuryuzani . In May 1942, Malakhov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . He graduated from the school of junior commanders. Since October of that year - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. By September 1943, the foreman Boris Malakhov commanded the guns of the 307th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 110th Guards Rifle Division of the 37th Army of the Steppe Front . He distinguished himself during the battle of the Dnieper [1] .
September 30, 1943, the calculation of Malakhov as part of the advance detachment crossed the Dnieper in the vicinity of the village of Kutsevolovka, Onufrievsky District, Kirovograd Region of the Ukrainian SSR and took an active part in the battles for the capture and retention of the bridgehead on its western shore. In those battles, Malakhov personally knocked out several enemy tanks and armored personnel carriers [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 22, 1944, for the "exemplary execution of the combat missions of the command at the front of the fight against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown" of the guard, Sergeant Major Boris Malakhov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal Star ” under number 11229 [1] .
After the war, Malakhov was demobilized. He lived in Chelyabinsk , worked in the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, the last post was the deputy head of the personnel department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chelyabinsk Oblast Executive Committee. He died on February 9, 1988, and was buried in the Assumption Cemetery of Chelyabinsk [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, Red Star and Glory of the 3rd degree, a number of medals [1] .
