Biography

Vladimir Makarov was born on March 9, 1947 in Dushanbe . He started playing football in 1957 . The first coach is N. G. Potapov.

Makarov came to the attention of the Odessa “ Chernomorets ” coaches in 1973 : his striking exploits in the first-league “ Pamir ” did not go unnoticed in Odessa . And already in his debut, 1974 , he fully justified the high trust of the coaching staff of Akhmed Aleskerov , scoring 13 goals in 30 matches, thus becoming the best scorer of the Odessa team in the most successful season for her in Soviet football. Moreover, many goals of the newcomer turned out to be victorious (Pakhtakor - 1: 0 [1] , Zarya - 2: 1 [2] , Karpaty - 2: 0 [3] , “Torpedo” M - 1: 0 [ 4] , Shakhtar - 1: 0 [5] ), two more helped to get productive draws (Kairat - 3: 3 [6] , Dnipro - 1: 1 [7] ), so his contribution to The “bronze" of the USSR championship, obtained by the inhabitants of Odessa, is very large. It is not surprising that at the end of the year Makarov entered the symbolic team of debutants of the USSR Higher League (prize of Smena magazine) and was among the 33 best football players of Ukraine (1974, No. 2 among left-handed midfielders).

The next seasons as part of the "sailors" Makarov had not been so successful, but there were reasons for that. Only 7 goals in two years forced the coaches of Chornomorets to part with Vladimir.

In Pakhtakor , Makarov was the most experienced footballer. In the middle line of the Tashkent team, he quickly found a common language with partners and successfully spent most of the games of the 1978 season, during which he scored five goals in the championship.

In the 1979 season Makarov did not have time to score goals. Having played 14 matches and went to Minsk on the 15th, on August 11, 1979, he died in a plane crash over Dneprodzerzhinsk .

Vladimir Makarov, along with other members of the Pakhtakor football club, was buried in Tashkent at the Botkinsky cemetery in the city.

In 2001, Makarov became one of the best football players in Odessa of the 20th century and the symbolic team of the Chornomorets of all time.
