The badge was established by order of the Minister of Defense of the USSR of April 17, 1957 in accordance with the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR of December 29, 1956.

Statute

The badge was awarded to soldiers, sailors, sergeants and foremen of military service and long service , distinguished by impeccable military discipline, having rewards for exemplary performance of service , who received excellent marks in the leading years and good marks in other disciplines during the school year. Awarding the sign was carried out once during the entire period of service in the Armed Forces of the USSR . The right to be awarded with breastplates had: regiment commanders , as well as commanders and commanders who enjoyed the same disciplinary rights, and above, who had the right to issue orders . A record of the award was entered on the military ID . For violation of military discipline or a negligent attitude to the performance of their duties and training in military and political training, military personnel could be deprived of a badge.

The badge awarded to soldiers, sergeants and foremen of the Ground Forces and Air Defense Forces of the country (except for air defense of the country), as well as soldiers, sergeants and foremen of formations and units that are not part of the armed forces . By order of the Minister of Defense of the USSR of October 26, 1957, cadets of military schools were also included in the list of servicemen who could be awarded with the badge.

Character Description

The badge “Achievement of the Soviet Army” is a shield superimposed on a wreath of golden oak leaves bordering both sides of the shield. The branches of the wreath are intertwined with a ribbon. The edges of the shield are bordered by an oxidized curly strip with points symmetrically located on it.

In the upper part of the sign is a disk covered with white enamel, in the middle of which there is a five-pointed star with the image of a sickle and a hammer. The star is covered in ruby ​​red enamel. Hammer and sickle of golden color. Along the edge of the disk has a white enamel belt with the inscription: "Excellent student of the Soviet Army."

At the bottom of the rim there is a small asterisk with two symmetrical points on the sides. The surface of the sign shield is red. The combined arms emblem is placed in the lower part of the shield - a golden star in a wreath of oak leaves.

Wear Order

  • The badge "Achievement of the Soviet Army" was worn on the front and everyday military uniforms on the right side first (if the formation did not have the honorary title of guards ), and was placed at distances established by the instructions for wearing uniforms .
