Biography
Born in the family of a wealthy merchant, public figure and philanthropist Arie-Yehuda-Leib Lev. Got a traditional Jewish religious education. He was one of the largest oil producers in Russia . In all the cities where he lived ( Baku , Saratov , Ryazan and Kiev ) he actively participated in the life of the Jewish community, the system of Jewish education, the spread of the Hebrew language, as well as in the activities of Palestinian and then Zionist organizations.
In 1911 he emigrated to Eretz Yisrael . He took an active part in the construction of Tel Aviv . Headed the public council of the Herzliya gymnasium . In 1919, a member of the highest body of Jewish self-government of the Provisional Council of Jews, Eretz Yisrael . He was a member of the Supreme Court of Eretz Yisrael .
His name is a street in Tel Aviv .
