(425) Cornelia ( Latin Cornelia ) is an asteroid of the main belt , which belongs to the spectral class C. It was discovered on December 28, 1896 by the French astronomer Auguste Charlotte at the Nice Observatory and named after Cornelia , the mother of the Gracchus brothers , one of the noblest Romans [1] .
