Although Durres is one of the most important cities in Albania, it has only one solid football stadium, which is located in the central part of the city.

The stadium was named after the legendary football player of this country - Niko Dovan. He played in two positions: the goalkeeper and the striker. Scored a goal in the first final of the Albanian Championship in 1931. [1] The previous name of the stadium is Lokomotiv.

Despite the poor condition, in 2010, the first international friendly match was played at the stadium, where the national team of Albania hosted the national team of Uzbekistan.
