Record History
In 2000, it was decided to record the four best songs for rotation on the radio. Then the band’s musicians got the idea to make a full album. In fact, this is “The Best at the request of listeners” [1] .
Alexey Romanov: “We undertook this work with a certain share of internal shudder. Because once again on the same rake ... Again to the studio with the same material ... Just at some point we realized that this should be done. They took up this work, and, it seems to me, everything worked out for us. ”
Eugene Margulis: “I listened to the album with pleasure. I am not ashamed of this work. ”
Andrei Sapunov: “We perfectly understood that there would be all kinds of reproaches from the outside, that they would begin to compare what was then and what is now. For example, I don’t know which is better - now or earlier. But I think that if it sounds better, it’s good. And I am glad that those who were not familiar with this before will be able to listen to songs in that quality. We really like to play at concerts, and I think we managed to slightly transfer the atmosphere of the concert to the disc. Of course, since she recorded in the studio, she turned out to be more academic, but there are elements of concert sound. It could be done even better, but it turned out the way it happened ” [2] .
The title track “All Over Again” was recorded in 1994, sound engineers Alexander Kuzmichyov and Dmitry Bukharov. Mixing - Alexander Kuzmichyov and Resurrection. All other songs were recorded in 2000-2001.
Songs 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 were recorded in the studio of the Taganka Theater, sound engineer, mixing and mastering - Andrei Starkov and Resurrection. Songs 4, 5, 12, 14 were recorded in the studio of Andrei Bochko, sound engineer, mixing - Sergei Bolshakov and Resurrection.
In total, 14 songs were recorded in the studio. The remaining 2 tracks - “I Rejoice” and “In Life, as in the Darker” are taken from the concert “We Love You” and are included in the gift edition of 2001 as additional compositions and in the re-release of 2009, where “Teach me to live” is also added with bonuses. (2006 version, SNS studio, sound engineer, mixing and mastering - Igor Klimenkov) and “How many stars have fallen from the horizon” (1979, GITIS studio, sound engineer - Alexander Kutikov, recording from the archive of Alexander Ageev) [3] .
