Bothriechis aurifer (lat.) Is a species of pit snake living in the east of the Mexican state of Chiapas and in the north of Guatemala .

The body length is about 70 cm, sometimes more than 1 m. The color is bright green, often with a bluish tint, with black spots. The belly is a little lighter, yellow.
It lives in mountain rain forests, oak groves. Sometimes found in secondary forests and plantations.
