Initial biography
Trofim Ivanovich Tanaschishin was born on January 31, 1903 in the village of Yaryshev, now Mogilyov-Podolsky district, Vinnitsa region.
Military Service
World War I and Civil War
In March 1918, the fighter joined the ranks of the partisan detachment under the command of Chebanov, after which he took part in the hostilities in Ukraine against the German troops and armed units under the command of General PP Skoropadsky . At the end of 1918, the partisan detachment was transformed into the 1st Silverth Regiment, where Tanaschishin became an equestrian scout.
In 1919, on the South-Western Front, he took part in hostilities against troops under the command of S. V. Petliura and General A. I. Denikin , during which the regiment suffered heavy losses, which soon became part of the 395th rifle shelf.
In the spring of 1920, Tanaschishin took part in the Soviet-Polish war , during which he fell seriously ill, lagged behind the regiment and later found himself in the territory of the enemy. After recovery, he tried to go to his troops, but on May 19 he was captured and then imprisoned in the Mogilev Prison, but in July he was released by the Red Army units, after which, as part of the 535th rifle regiment, he took part in military operations against the troops commanded by S.V. Petliura, and from April to November 1921 - in combat operations against banditry in the Mogilev district , being on the post of assistant platoon commander of a separate equestrian division of the United Nations.
Interwar Time
After the end of hostilities, Tanaschishin was appointed to the position of physical education instructor for pre-draft training of the district military registration and enlistment office.
In August 1925, he was sent to study at the Ukrainian Cavalry School , after which, from September 1928, he served in the 9th Cavalry Division as platoon commander of the 52nd Cavalry Regiment, then in the 54th separate reserve squadron.
After graduating from the Leningrad armored courses for the improvement of commanders in May 1931, he was appointed commander of the training armored car service squadron of the Moscow Proletarian Infantry Division ( Moscow Military District ).
From October 1931, he served in the 11th Cavalry Division , where he served as temporarily serving as commander and commissar of a separate mechanized squadron, as well as commander of a training armored platoon, and from April 1932 he served in the 11th mechanized regiment of the same division as political officer of the training squadron , commander of a tank squadron and assistant chief of staff of the regiment.
In November 1934 he was sent to study at the headquarters of the Leningrad armored advanced training courses for commanders, after which, from May 1935, he continued to serve in the 11th mechanized regiment (11th Cavalry Division), where he temporarily served as assistant chief, chief of staff regiment and regiment commander.
In June 1938, Tanaschishin was appointed to the post of chief of the 2nd part of the headquarters of the 1st tank brigade , in April 1940 - to the post of assistant chief of staff of the 21st tank brigade , in July of the same year to the post of chief of supply 4th tank division ( 6th mechanized corps ), and in March 1941 - to the post of commander of the 60th tank regiment ( 30th tank division ).
Great Patriotic War
Since the beginning of the war, the 30th Panzer Division took part in the course of border battles, during which it was encircled.
In August 1941, he was appointed commander of the 36th separate motorcycle regiment , who took part in the defense of Moscow, leading heavy defensive battles in the Mozhaysk direction, for the military successes in which Trofim Ivanovich Tanaschishin was awarded the Order of the Red Banner , and the 36th separate motorcycle regiment converted to the 1st Guards .
In December 1941, he was appointed commander of the 36th Tank Brigade , which was stationed in the Moscow Military District, and then in April 1942 was incorporated into the 22nd Tank Corps ( 38th Army ), after which it led military operations to South-Western Front .
July 17, 1942, Colonel Tanaschishin was appointed commander of the 13th Panzer Corps , which took part in the Battle of Stalingrad . The corps played an important role in the defensive phase of the Battle of Stalingrad (see Battle at the junction 74th kilometer ). For skillful leadership of the corps in the battles on the approaches to Stalingrad, on December 2, 1942, Colonel Tanaschishin was awarded the second Order of the Red Banner, and on December 7, 1942 he was awarded the title of Major General Tank Forces . For its difference in battles, the 13th Tank Corps on January 9, 1943, was transformed into the 4th Guards Mechanized and was awarded the honorary title "Stalingrad". The 4th Guards Mechanized Corps under the command of Tanaschishin took part in the Rostov , Donbass , Melitopol and Nikopol-Krivoy Rog offensive operations , as well as in the liberation of the cities of Donetsk-Amvrosiyivka , Bolshoi Tokmak and others. Lt.-tank forces . In March 1944, the corps was included in the cavalry-mechanized group under the command of General I. A. Pliev and took part in the Bereznegovato-Snigirevskaya and Odessa offensive operations and the liberation of the city of New Bug , etc. For distinctions during these battles, the corps was awarded Order of Suvorov 2 degrees.
