Patrice Abanda Etong ( French Patrice Abanda Etong ; August 3, 1978, Yaounde , Cameroon ) - Cameroonian footballer, defender. He played in the national team of Cameroon . Member of the 1998 World Cup in France, Olympic champion in 2000 .

Club career

Patrice began his football career at Tonner Club from his hometown of Yaounde in 1995. Three years later, Abanda moved to the Greek Apollo club (Kalamaria), who played in Beta Ethniki.

In 2000, Patrice signed a contract with the Czech Sparta . From 2000 to 2001, the Cameroonian played 10 games in the Gambrinus League , then from 2001 to 2003 he played for the Sparta reserve team. On March 12, 2002 he made his debut in the Champions League in a game against Real Madrid [2] . In the 2003/04 season, he played one match as a basis, after which he moved to Drnovice , after 12 matches for which he joined Teplice .

In 2006, Patrice joined the Besa club in Albania, for which he played 29 matches. After the end of the 2006/07 season, Abanda ended his career.

Team Career

In 1998, Cameroon's national team coach, Claude Le Roi , included Patrice in his application for the World Cup in France. At the tournament, Abanda did not play a single game, and his team dropped out of the fight after the group stage.

In 2000, Patrice played for the Cameroon Olympic team at the games in Sydney . He took part in all 6 games of Cameroonians in the tournament, including the final against the Spaniards, won in the penalty shootout [3] .

Abanda played for the national team in the qualifying tournaments for the World Cup 2002 and 2006 . In total, in the T-shirt of the national team, he spent 9 games, scored 1 goal.
