The name “Orosu” from in the Turkic languages ​​has the meaning of “youngest son”, “heir”.

According to the local administration, as of January 1, 2001, 762 people lived in the village .

Infrastructure

The central estate of the Orosu collective farm is located in the village, the main areas of production are meat and dairy cattle breeding, meat herd horse breeding, agriculture (vegetable growing).

In rural education, the methodology of non-traditional pedagogy is used, the foundations of which were laid by G. N. Volkov . Ethnopedagogy of the Yakut people was developed by K. S. Chiryaev, a museum named after him was created in the village of Orosu.
