The squadron battleship of the US Navy "Nebraska (BB-14)", was the first ship named after the state of Nebraska . He became the 14th rank 1 battleship in the US Navy .
Nebraska was founded on July 4, 1902 at the Moran Brothers Shipyard in Seattle . Launched on October 7, 1904 . Miss Mary Nain Mickey, the daughter of Nebraska Governor John H. Mickey, broke the bottle on the side of the ship. It was put into operation on July 1, 1907 , Captain Reginald F. Nicholson was appointed commander of the ship.
