Biography
Valery Strakhov was born on February 25, 1950 in the city of Cherepovets . In his youth doing weightlifting . From 1972 to 1976 he studied at the Yaroslavl Art School . Artists A. A. Churin, L. A. Patov, E. V. Smagina were creative mentors. He did not teach long at the Cherepovets Children's Art School. He continued his education at MGHI them. V.I. Surikov in the workshop of Professor V.G. Tsyplakov (1978-1984). Since 1985 - member of the Union of Artists of Russia. Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts since 2001. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation since 2002. People's Artist of Russia since 2013. Participant in regional art exhibitions since 1984. Personal exhibitions of painting were held in Moscow (1997, 2006), Vologda (1994, 1996, 1997), Cherepovets (1994) Member of the creative association "ROMANTIC OF REALISM". Constantly lives and works in Vologda since 1978. His works are in the Vologda Regional Art Gallery , Vologda State Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve , Cherepovets Museum Association , Totemskiy Museum Association , Vytegorsky regional museum , Plosskom Museum-Reserve , Ulyanovsk Regional Art Museum , State Russian Museum , Art Prima Gallery, [1] in private collections in Russia and abroad.
