Louis Bertrand George ( Eng. Louis Bertrand George ; October 10, 1950 - January 2, 2014 ) - Minister of Education of Saint Lucia (1982-1997), leader of the parliamentary opposition (1997-2001).

Biography
Prior to active politics, George was a teacher and agronomist, led a successful farm in the village of Mikud [1] .
In 1982-1997, George was the Minister of Education, and in 1997-2001 - the leader of the parliamentary opposition. After his resignation, George was awarded the Cross of Saint Lucia for his “contribution to national education” [1] .
Louis Bertrand George died at St. Jude Hospital on Thursday January 2, 2014 after a long illness.
