Gameplay

The game is a racing simulator on maps , with the ability to use weapons against their rivals. Players are able to perform tricks, drifts and hit opponents on board, the successful completion of these techniques fills the acceleration scale ( English boost meter ). The acceleration scale can be spent on acceleration, protection against attacks by opponents, striking opponents on board and activating devices on the track. Accelerators, pots with weapons, devices and bots attacking racers can be located on the track. Collecting capsules with weapons, the player receives one of four types of weapons (rockets, lightning, sound or acceleration), each of which has three levels. The weapon can be used for its intended purpose or as a mine. [14] The game has a story mode plot written by professional Hollywood screenwriters. [5] [15] [16]

ModSpot

ModSpot is the main zone of ModNation Racers . Here, players can communicate and compete with each other, also from here access to content creation, loading of already created content, access to career mode, to online competitions and races in local multiplayer is provided, also here are the most popular maps and mods on the pedestals for the last day . The player can navigate ModSpot on his map to select the mode he needs or to communicate with other players. The player can text chat and special gestures.

Creation Mode

The player has the opportunity to create their own characters, maps and tracks. To create the player a number of details are available, the player is able to rotate them, change their size and color, texture them and choose the material from which they are made [17] . New details for the player become available for victories in the plot competitions, some of the details can be bought in the in-game store for special tokens that are hidden on each track during the story passage. To create tracks, a special tool called “Track Studio” was created, which was introduced by Sony at E3 2009. It allows you to create a track and its environment in 5 minutes. [18]

The player begins to create a character with a white character model, in which you can change the color and texture of the skin, facial features, hair, clothes, masks, helmets and other details. For some parts, you can choose the material - metal, rubber or fabric. [nineteen]

The track creation tool is described as possibly the deepest in car simulators. [15] To create a track, the igok must pave the road from start to finish by determining the width and slope of the road. The player can also change the shape of the landscape, create or remove lakes and mountains, determine the surface test, time of day, the presence of houses, trees, animals, accelerators, diving boards, capsules with weapons, and more. Initially 30 tracks are available. [20] You can also create various detours that are not noticeable at first glance. [5] After creating the track, the player can publish it on the network. [14]
