South Russian Automobile Club

The South Russian Automobile Club (abbr. Yu.-R. A.K.) is a Russian automobile club, founded on August 29 (August 15, old) in 1911 in Kharkov . Ceased to exist in 1919 . He was a member of the Union of Automobile Clubs of Russia (SAKR).

The colors of the sports flag are red and blue. Club Winter Residence - Kharkiv, vul. Gogol, 4. Summer residence - summer cottages "Pomeryka" on the 7th verst of the highway Kharkov - Belgorod.

The club is a member of the Sevastopol International Automobile Race for the Prize of Emperor Nicholas II on the route St. Petersburg - Moscow - Kharkov - Sevastopol in September 1911. The rally participants from the Club: Mr. Pok at Brazia, A. Dunin at Darrak and A. Ilyenko at Fiat. In total, during the existence of the club, 73 full members and 91 competing members (members of the Club “without a motor”).

  • August 1911 - registration of the Club.
  • September 1911 - participation in the Sevastopol rally for the Emperor’s prize
  • May 4, 1912 - car tour Kharkov-Belgorod-Kharkov
  • June 9-11, 1912 - car ride Kharkov-Poltava-Kharkov
  • June 29 - July 5, 1912 - car ride Kharkov-Moscow-Kharkov
  • October 13, 1912 - opening of the Club’s winter residence in Kharkov
  • January 1913 - “Mandatory regulations on driving in cars in the city of Kharkov” published in Kharkov, developed with the participation of the Club.
  • April 15, 1913 - speed race with the participation of Club athletes
  • August 14, 1914 - Extraordinary meeting of the Club on the First World War.
    • August 28 - the Club’s ambulance squad goes to the front under the flags of the Red Cross
  • November 23, 1914 - meeting of Emperor Nicholas II in Kharkov with the participation of Club cars.
  • April 1918 - the last general meeting of the Club (documented)

The South Russian Autoclub in Kharkov continued its activities in 1918-1920, organizing two auto loan and cooperative partnerships AutoCredit (since 1918) and Auto Help (since 1916) in the city.
