.348 Winchester - a rifle ammunition, introduced by Winchester in 1936 under the Winchester Model 71 for sports shooting and hunting for large game at medium distances in a wooded area. It was considered the most powerful cartridge of the lever action used in rifles . He served as the basis for the creation of 348 Ackley Improved and .50 Alaskan . In the US civilian market , it was offered with bullets weighing 10, 13 and 16 grams . In 1962, the production of cartridges with a bullet of 10 and 16 grams was discontinued.

Notes
This cartridge was used for hunting all species and subspecies of deer (including moose ), excluding especially large individuals of northeast Siberia, as well as wild boars and mountain ungulates.
