Story
Randir Singh, a native of India, works in the banking sector in Chicago and he is a real workaholic. Randir has already turned 40 years old, but he is still not married, because he is shy with women. Before the New Year, he finally overcomes timidity and decides to celebrate the New Year with his girlfriend Ria in his apartment, where he is going to make her an offer. Tikku is a 26-year-old teacher from New York. She intends to spend the New Year with her fiancé Ishan. After a grand drinking with friends in the bathhouse, Randir is on a plane, flies to New York and ends up in Tikku’s apartment. His key goes to the lock, and from the inside it looks exactly like his apartment. So the bank clerk is visiting the teacher, gets acquainted with her jealous groom, with her work colleagues and best friend. After a series of ridiculous and funny situations, Randir and Tikku break up. Randir returns home to work, but cannot forget about the one he met in New York [4] [5] .
Creators' Attitude to the Original
The credits of the film do not mention the authors of the Soviet original. The director and scriptwriter of the Soviet film Eldar Ryazanov , according to his assistant, did not know anything about the Indian remake and had nothing to do with it [6] .
