Distribution
Southeast and South Asia , including Vietnam , India , Laos , Myanmar [2] .
Description
It differs from other species of the subgenus Polistella in a strongly swollen second metasomal sternite (it protrudes strongly in the lateral view). The scutellum disk is almost flat. The species is included in the Polistella subgenus (in which there are about 85 species), the largest of the four Old World subgenus in the genus of paper wasps Polistes [2] . The species was first described in 1922 by entomologists K. Dover and S. Rao (Dover C., Rao S., 1922) [1] .
