Lesnovsky urban settlement is a municipality in the Shilovsky district of the Ryazan region of the Russian Federation. The administrative center is the village of Lesnoy .

Geographical position
Lesnovsky urban settlement is located in the southwest of the Shilovsky municipal district of the Ryazan region; it is located in the southern part of the flat-hilly moraine of the Para – Pronsky plain. The general slope of the area north to the Oka River. The lowest places in the valley of the river Neplozha - 125 m above sea level. [3]

Climate and natural resources
The climate of Lesnovsky urban settlement is temperate continental . The average temperature in January is −11 C, the average temperature in July is +19 C. The average annual temperature is positive + 4.4 C.
Western transport of air masses predominates, which is facilitated by the plain topography of the settlement. The terrain is characterized by cyclonic weather, especially in spring and autumn. At the end of spring and the beginning of summer, a breakthrough of the Arctic air masses occurs, which causes spring frosts. The terrain is in the zone of unstable moisture, the average annual rainfall is 550 mm. The wettest month is July. The longest time of the year is winter (137 days), the shortest time of the year is spring (55 days).
The territory of the settlement belongs to the basin of the Oka River . The largest water stream is the Neplozda River, the length of which is 21 km. The Otrozhok stream flows into it with the Sivers tributary (left), and the Redistribution stream on the right. The Prony basin includes the Ulas creek and the Luchka creek. In the driest season, the Neposla river and streams flowing into it can dry out. Artificial ponds (ponds) were created on the stream Otrozhek (eastern part of the village of Lesnoy). There are no natural outputs of underground waters (springs).
The settlement is located in the forest-steppe zone . Coniferous-deciduous forests with open grassy spaces prevail. The soils are mainly light gray forest , in composition: light loamy and loamy sand.
Minerals are represented by deposits of phosphates - near the village of Novaya Pustyn in the valley of the Peredel river and Sivers stream, as well as on the right bank of the Neplosh river near the village of Novomosolovsky ; sand - on the left bank of the river Neplozha near the village of New Desert. History
It was formed as a result of the municipal reform of 2006 in the territory of the Administration of the village of Lesnoy (the center of Lesnoy ) with the assignment of administrative management to the village of Lesnoy .

Economics
According to data for 2015/2016, in the territory of the Lesnovsky urban settlement of the Shilovsky district of the Ryazan region, there are:
- FSUE Elastic Synthetic Fiber Plant, an enterprise in the defense industry;
- Razryad LLC, production of explosives;
- LLC Nadezhda, production of wooden building structures;
- CJSC Gaztekhprom, design and manufacture of modular boiler houses;
- Module LLC, processing of metal products;
- NTF Perfoteh CJSC, production of perforators;
- Oka-Plast LLC, production of stationery;
- Stroypolymer LLC, production of self-adhesive sealing tape and paints and varnishes;
- PKK SKIM LLC, production of polymer coatings;
- LLC Lemas, production of paints and varnishes;
- Marine Policy LLC, fish and seafood processing;
- LLC Lesnoye, an agricultural enterprise.
The sale of goods and services is carried out by 50 stores, 3 pharmacies, 2 trade pavilions, 1 kiosk, hotel, 4 public catering establishments, 3 hairdressing salons, a photo shop, a bath house and 2 funeral services enterprises. [13] [3]
Social Infrastructure
On the territory of the Lesnovsky city settlement there are: a branch of Sberbank of Russia, a post office, Lesnovsky hospital, Lesnovsky secondary school, the House of children's creativity, the children's art school "Parus", the Children's and youth sports school (branch of FGC "Arena"), a kindergarten, House of Culture and 2 libraries (one of them is a nursery). The village has a stadium, hockey and sports grounds. [3]
Transport
The main cargo and passenger transportation is carried out by road. From south to north, the territory of the Lesnovsky urban settlement crosses the highway of intermunicipal significance 61N-732 : Lesnoy - Mosolovo - Ryassa . The Ryazan I - Pichkiryaevo railway line of the Moscow Railway runs along the northern border of the settlement. Here is the stopping point “ Departure 278 km ”. A separate branch of the railway was brought to the Elastic Synthetic Fiber Plant.
