Fukuda Takeo ( Jap. 福田 赳 夫 Takeo Fukuda , January 14, 1905 - July 5, 1995 ) is a political and state leader, as well as the 67th Prime Minister of Japan . One of the famous leaders of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) .

He graduated from Tokyo University in 1929 .
Political career
He came to politics from among the highest state bureaucracy. Since 1929, he was in different positions in the Ministry of Finance. In the LDP, he inherited the leadership of the N. Kisi faction, which he headed until 1986 . One of the main political rivals K. Tanaka, acted as an opponent of his plan to "transform the Japanese islands." In the office of Tanaka (1973) Fukuda served as Minister of Finance.
The Prime Minister in the years 1976-1978 . Implemented an organizational reform of the LDP, which provided for the formal abolition of factions, the establishment of the People’s Association for the Defense of a Free Society (Dziyu Kokumin Kaygi), an increase (from 500 thousand to 2 million) in the number of party members. During his stay in power, the Japan-China Treaty of Peace and Friendship was signed (1978). In 1978 he formulated the basic principles of Japanese politics in Asia.
