About the album

The German name Alles wieder offen is equivalent to the English All Open Again - "everything is open again." The album included 10 tracks based on a variety of material, such as an excerpt from the rhythm guitar parts recorded by Blixa Bargeld in a flooded basement in Hamburg in the early 1980s (formed the basis of the song “Susej”) [2] .

Reviewer of the electronic magazine PopMatters Tim O'Neill in his review of Alles wieder offen remarked: “There is no group in the world that sounds quite like Einstürzende Neubauten, even after all these years. They were together for almost three decades, and during this time several brave men could try to follow in their footsteps - no one came close. <...> The group is stillassertive , but for the most part Alles wieder offen appears to be a much clearer and less erratic album than any of its predecessors ” [3] .

The observer of the German resource laut.de Matiyas Mante, recalling the history of the collective - “First there was a post-industrial and a new German wave , then, in the 1990s, a change of course followed - towards more accessible and calm waters” - said: “It’s good to hear that the awesome intellectual giant in his 48 years is still far from the so-called "alternative" art " [4] .
