.33 Winchester (expansion .33 WCF or .33 Win) - a central ignition cartridge introduced by Winchester in 1903 on the US civilian market for the Winchester Model 1886 lever action rifle . Was the first Winchester smokeless powder cartridge ; It was made until 1936 . Designed for hunting the middle beast ( deer , American black bear ) at medium distances; typically shows better ballistic performance than similar .35 Remington ammunition.
