Biography

Sharofiddin Yusupov was born into the family of the hereditary ceramist usto Isamiddin Yusupov (1884-1959), the first ceramist to have an air base in the dynasty of Dukchi spindlers in the Duhkion Rishtan mahalla.

He studied with his father and also with the masters H. Palvanov, H. Sattarov, I. Kamilov, M. Ismailov and H. Yunusov - the best masters of Rishtan adopted the traditions of brush painting and plot “still life” compositions.

The main authority is considered by Ibragim Kamilov, from whom he studied from 1962. From 1978 to 1980. - The main artist of the Rishtan ceramic factory. Since 1970 - a regular participant of folk art exhibitions in Uzbekistan and abroad.

The master’s works are in the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan, the Directorate of Art Exhibitions of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, the Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts of Uzbekistan, the Ferghana Regional Museum of Local Lore, the Samarkand Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve, the Museum of Art of Kyrgyzstan, the Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow, and the Museum of Ethnography in St. Petersburg, the State Hermitage Museum, the Museum of Ethnography of Estonia (Tartu) and many other foreign collections.

Family tradition continues son - Firdavs Yusupov. Since 1997 - father and son - members of the Association of Folk Craftsmen of Uzbekistan “Hunarmand”.
