Kholmogoy is a village in the Zalarinsky district of the Irkutsk region of Russia . The administrative center of the Kholmogoy municipality . Located about 15 km south-west of the district center.

Origin of title
The name Kholmogoy comes from the Buryat goal - hollow and mogoy - snake . Presumably, this is due to the fact that many snakes lived here [2] .
