Biography
He was born in 1882 in the family of an intelligent Tajik scientist Mullah Nasreddin in the ancient and famous settlement of Rishtan , Kokand district, Ferghana region , Turkestan governor-general , and the Russian Empire .
From childhood, he was a fan of oriental poetry and literature, especially Navoi and Bedil. He received his elementary education at a local school, continued his studies at various Kokand madrassas, where he met and made friends with famous poets and thinkers of his time: Mukimi , Furkat , Muhayyir, Zavkiy, Nadim Namangani, Raji Margilani, Raji Khukandi.
Pulatjon domullo Kayyumov (1885-1964) honored teacher of Uzbekistan, literary critic, local historian, teacher from Kokand in the work "Tazkirai Kayumiy":
BOKI - This poet was born in 1880 in the southeastern side of Kokand, in the ancient and famous settlement of Roshidon - famous scientists and poets lived and worked here. He was born in the family of an intelligent scientist. He received his primary education at a local school, then studied at different Kokand madrassas. His name is Mirzo Abdullo Mahdum, the son of Mulla Nasriddin. The poet is known for his poetic descriptions of historical and literary facts. A man with bright ideas, a competent scientist and a talented poet. In his heart, he is close to Sufi views, so he chose the pseudonym "Bokiy", which means "Crying." He is passionate about Bedil’s poetry, a game of chess. In knowledge of the philosophical views of Mirzo Bedil and in chess in Kokand and its environs, he has no equal. He has many poems, but we did not see a separate dean of the poet.
Mirzo Abdullo Bokiy wrote Muhammans to the works of Navoi, translated the Qassid Tukhfat al-Afkar from Persian to Uzbek. 1941 Bakiy was included in the organizing committee for the anniversary celebrations 500th anniversary of the birth of the Uzbek poet, thinker and statesman Alisher Navoi.
He was a mentor and close friend of the People's poet Gafur Gulyam. Since 1943, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR .
Mirzo Abdullo Bokiy died in 1967 . He was buried in the cemetery of Sufi Sodik in Rishtan .
