Palliativ ( fr. Palliatif from Lat. Pallium “ pallium , veil, Greek cloak, outer dress”) is not an exhaustive, temporary solution, half-measure, closing, like a “cloak,” the problem itself. Initially, this word was called a medicine or some other means that gives temporary relief to the patient at the level of eliminating individual symptoms or improving one’s well-being, but which does not contribute to curing the disease (that is, providing symptomatic, palliative treatment ).
In modern medicine, along with the expression “palliative therapy”, the expression “palliative care” has become used - a concept encompassing a wider range of palliative measures that improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
In the technique of palliatives - adaptation is not very suitable existing solutions to solve the new problem.
