Balatau is a mountain range in the Southern Urals . Located in the Ishimbay region of the Republic of Bashkortostan .

Consists of 5 separate mountain ranges . The ridge stretches along the meridian for 5 km in length and up to 3 km in width. The maximum height is 639 m [1] .
It is limited by the rivers Uryuk (in the south), Yamash (in the west), Uluelga (in the north), Ulgan (in the east).
The relief is diverse: gently sloping foothills, steep slopes with limestone outcrops, flat peaks, karst dips. It consists of rocks of the Ashinsky series of the Upper Vendian , carbon deposits [1] .

Toponymy
The name of the ridge in translation from Bashkir means - a small mountain.
