Paul Peter

Peter Paul was born on December 5, 1940 in Hamburg, Germany. He lost his father during World War II and moved to Sweden with his mother in 1945, where he began to go to school in 1947. In 1959, he entered the Cedra Latin Gymnasium in Stockholm, where he achieved good results, but he left school and left to work when he was 19 years old. He studied mathematics and physics, and was a research fellow at the Swedish Defense Research Agency for several years, starting in 1963. Soon, Paul returned to university to graduate at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, where he received his doctorate in computational mathematics in 1975. He became a teacher in computational mathematics and wrote several textbooks on this subject. Paul began making short films in 1980 and won various prizes for his work. His writing career began in 1983 and two years later he published his first and most successful book, Janne, My Friend. Since then, he has published over 26 works of art. He resigned as a lecturer in 2005.

Peter Paul wrote 35 books: 9 textbooks and 26 works of fiction. Best known as the author of fiction. Most of his books are dramas , as well as two works of poetry, a book with fairy tales and a “picture book without pictures” which cannot be categorized. In most of his books, the main characters are children and adolescents. He believes that this is the most important period of life. Books cover topics such as loneliness, betrayal, lies, the desire for friendship, death. On his website, he reports that he wrote about it because it is a reality for many adults, adolescents and children, and it would be a shame to be silent about it. About 13 of his books have been translated into 13 languages, mainly in Norway, Denmark and Germany, but in recent years his books have also been published in languages ​​such as Estonian and Polish. Among the books published in the first four years of his career as a writer, three of them are autobiographical, which were formed in the Rainbow series, starting with the book Regnbågen har bara åtta färger (There are only eight colors in the rainbow). In this book, Paul described his early childhood, starting with his move to Sweden. The book takes place between 1945 and 1948.
