Story

Dad, mom and their son Kolya lived in a new house on the edge of town near the blue forest. It was before the New Year holidays. And dad was so busy at work that he forgot to buy a Christmas tree. He remembered this only when he came home on the evening of December 31. Dad took the hatchet and went to the forest for the Christmas tree. Mom dissuaded him, but to no avail. And in the forest, the teddy bear asked Bear and Dipper for their Christmas tree toys from their parents. The bear thought and went to the edge of the forest to the road leading to the city. There he met a dad who was looking for a Christmas tree. The two fathers of the families talked, discussed their problems and decided to help each other. The bear found a Christmas tree of a suitable size, and dad stopped the taxi and drove the Bear to the city center to the store, where he helped him buy Christmas tree decorations. Having survived different adventures, both got home to their families and merrily celebrated the New Year.

About the movie

Animation historian, employee of the Research Institute of Motion Picture Arts, author of numerous publications about directors and animators of Soyuzmultfilm studio Georgy Borodin, in his article on Yu. A. Kalisher, wrote about the film:

“And of course, I could not help but ask about the New Year’s Adventure. About the picture, the charm of which cannot be explained, analyzed and decomposed into its constituent elements. A picture that cannot be described or retold - you can only see it and fall in love for life, and not imagine more than the New Year without it. Without the dialogues of Berdichevsky, without the voices of Rumyanova and Gluzsky, without the captivating song of Flyarkovsky, without the ingenious work of the animators, without stylization as a “primitive” of urban street New Year's decoration ... ”

- G. Borodin [3] .
