Story

Kirk Van Houten has a midlife crisis . Homer realizes that his lifestyle will remain unchanged, and is depressed. He shows Marge letters and photographs of his old Spanish friend Eduardo. Marge decides to invite him to Springfield. Eduardo arrives and helps Homer fulfill his childhood dreams. Homer's last dream is to fly like a bird. Wearing the wingsuits , Homer and Eduardo begin to descend. Homer gradually gets used to flying, but crashes into a skyscraper and falls down.

At this time, Kent Brockman makes an unexpected visit to Springfield Elementary School and reports that the students are cheating. Lisa decides to help by creating a “Code of Honor” so that none of the students cheats, a punishment is due for violating the code. After some time, Lisa’s method was successful - the students who signed the code began to learn better. However, Lisa accidentally finds Bart's backpack and discovers that he was cheating.

Lisa understands - if she talks about it, her plan will fail and everyone will begin to write off again. She is trying to force her brother to confess everything. But Bart says that he will do this if he sees the sign of God. At this very moment, Homer lands on Bart.

Homer promises Eduardo to take him to the airport, asking where he wants to fly. He replies: "Let the heart tell you how far you can go." As a result, Homer and Eduardo stay for a while in Barcelona .

Critical / Public Relations

The episode was watched by 4.2 million people aged 18-49, it got a rating of 1.8 and became the most viewed in the block "Animation Domination" [1] . Fans reacted to the episode mixedly, however, critics' assessments were quite positive. Dennis Perkins of The AV Club rated B, commenting this: “After failing the previous episode, this is a very big step forward. If I had to see first a happy Homer, embodying childhood dreams, and then various mediocre references to pop culture, I would choose the first. ” [2]
