Irina A. Galitskaya (born April 6, 1932 ) is a Soviet and Russian religious scholar and teacher . Candidate of Philosophical Sciences [1] , leading researcher (head of a religious study scientific group) laboratory of civil and patriotic education of the State Research Institute of Family and Education of RAO . Member of the Public Advisory Council "Education as a mechanism for the formation of the spiritual and moral culture of society" under the Moscow Department of Education . One of the authors of the dictionaries " A brief scientific and atheistic dictionary " and " Religions of the peoples of modern Russia ."

Biography
In 1970, at the Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the CPSU, she defended her thesis for the degree of Candidate of Philosophy on the topic "Features of the manifestation and reasons for the preservation of religious remnants among young people." [2]
She worked as a senior researcher at the Research Institute of General Problems of Education of the USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences.
Leading researcher (head of a religious studies scientific group) laboratory of civil and patriotic education of the State Research Institute of Family and Education of RAO .
Member of the Public Advisory Council "Education as a mechanism for the formation of the spiritual and moral culture of society" under the Moscow Department of Education .

Balantsev notes that “ In the 1970s scientific research on the history of atheistic education was published. I. A. Galitskaya based on the analysis of statistical data and polls, in particular, tried to find out how young people after 50 years of propaganda of atheism are really religious. Moreover, there was a comparison of the current situation with earlier periods . ” [3]
