List of exoplanets discovered in 2014

In 2014, 811 exoplanets were discovered. [1] [2] [3]

The year 2014 in planetology is notable for the following important events:

  • The planet KOI-314 c was discovered, which is an intermediate object between gas giants and rocky earth-like planets; [four]
  • astronomers have determined that the planet GJ 1214 b , discovered in 2009, is shrouded in thick clouds; [5]
  • Scientists have modeled the process of planet formation around binary stars. [6]
  • planets are discovered immediately at three stars of the open cluster M 67 ; [7]
  • a team of scientists working with Kepler’s data announced the discovery of 715 planets; [8]
  • proposed a new method for detecting water in the atmospheres of exoplanets; [9]
  • for the first time, the rotation period of exoplanet β of the Painter b was determined: a day on it lasts about 8 hours; [10]
  • the planet GU Pisces b was discovered with a record period of revolution of 80 thousand years; [eleven]
  • The temperature of the day and night hemisphere of the planet HD 209458 b (Osiris) was determined. [12]
