Robert Matthew "Bobby" Hurley ( born June 28, 1971 , Jersey City , New Jersey ) is an American professional basketball player and coach who currently works as the head coach of the National University Sports Association team ( NCAA) Arizona State Sun Devils .

Content
The early years
Bobby Hurley was born in Jersey City ( New Jersey ), studied at a local school, where he played for a basketball team. In 1993, he graduated from Duke University , where for four he played for the Duke Blue Devils team, in which he had a successful career, gaining 1731 points, 306 rebounds, 1076 assists and 204 interceptions [1] , besides two years in a row helped his team win the regular championship of the Atlantic Coast Conference (1991-1992) and for three consecutive years helped bring it to the finals of the four US student championships (1990-1992) [2] . In addition, the Blue Devils reached the final of the championship for three years and twice (1991-1992) became champions of the National University Sports Association (NCAA) [3] [4] , but in 1992 Hurley was recognized as the most outstanding player in this basketball tournament [1] .
Player Career
He played as a point guard . In 1993, he was selected by the NBA draft under the 7th number by the Sacramento Kings team. He later played for the Vancouver Grizzlies team. In total, the NBA spent 5 seasons. In 1993, he joined the 1st All-American National Team of the NCAA [1] . During his career in the NBA, he played 269 games in which he scored 1,032 points (an average of 3.8 per game), made 283 rebounds , 880 assists , 120 interceptions and 7 block shots .
In 1990, Hurley won the Seattle Goodwill Games silver medal in the US team . In 1991, he became the winner of the Summer Universiade in Sheffield as part of the US team .
December 13, 1993 got into a car accident in which he was seriously injured [5]
Coaching career
After completing his professional career as a player, Bobby Hurley worked for a year as an assistant to the head coach of the Wagner Seahawks student team (2010-2011), where he joined the coaching staff led by his younger brother Dan Hurley . Then, for a short time, he worked as an assistant to the head coach of the Rhode Island Rams student team (2012) [6] . On March 26, 2013, he took the position of head coach for the Buffalo Bulls team, replacing Reggie Witherspoon , who was brought to the NCAA tournament for the first time in its history [7] . On April 9, 2015, Hurley took a similar position on the Arizona State Sun Devils student team, which he currently works at.
