John Boyne ( born John Boyne ; born , ) is an Irish writer . The author of ten novels for adults and five novels for children. His books have been published in more than 50 languages. A new work published in 2016, The Heart's Invisible Furies.

Biography
John Boyne was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1971. He studied English literature at Trinity College , Dublin and writing at the University of East Anglia, Norwich , where he won the Curtis Brown Prize (award for best student work in prose).
In 2015, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate at Universities in East Anglia. He led the jury of the Scotiabank Giller Prize in 2015.
His early prose consisted mainly of short stories. Boyne's first short story, “Entertainments Jar,” was in the Hennessy Literary Award shortlist in Ireland. In total, he published about 70 short stories.
To date, he has written 15 novels. The novel “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” (2006) was filmed by Miramax . The film received several prestigious film awards. The novel itself received two Irish Book Awards, the Bisto Book of the Year, and was a prize winner or shortlisted for several international awards. In addition, the novel 80 weeks topped the list of bestsellers in Ireland and topped the New York Times Bestseller List and was the best-selling novel in Spain in 2007 and 2008. Worldwide, sold over 5 million copies of the book.
