Record Shot Details

In November 2009, Harrison participated in a combined operation in Afghanistan, Helmand Province, in the Musa Kala region. During the battle with the militants, using the L115A3 Long Range Rifle rifle and from a distance of 2475 meters, he managed to destroy two Taliban machine gunners with two shots, and the machine gun itself was disabled by the third [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] . In an interview with the BBC, Harrison said that he needed 9 sighting shots to then, in succession, “lay” three bullets exactly for the targets [10] .

Harrison also mentioned that on that day in the Musa Kala area, weather conditions were ideal for firing at long distances: clear visibility and full calm.

According to the JBM Ballistics program [11] , the bullets fired by Harrison from the L115A3 Long Range Rifle sniper rifle reached their target after about 6,017 seconds of flight, while their speed dropped from 936 m / s to 251.8 m / s, and the vertical the deviation was about 120 meters (that is, if the sniper was at the same height with the targets, he would have to aim 120 meters higher).
