To (n) at Beija , port. Dona Beija , literally “Madame Kiss,” is a Brazilian television series (89 episodes) based on historical events. Created by pt: Rede Manchete (now non-existent) in 1986 , scripted by Wilson Aguiar Filho, directed by Erval Rossano ( pt: Herval Rossano ) to the music of composer Wagner Tiso ( pt: Wagner Tiso ). It was demonstrated for the first time from April 7 to July 11, 1986, then again in 1988 and in 1992-1993 (in the latter case new series were completed, of which there were 102 in total).
Later, the series was also shown on pt: SBT [1] from April 6 to July 4, 2009. The series was also translated into other languages - in particular, it was shown with great success in Ukraine in the mid-1990s, and later by private television channels in Russia.

Story
The series is based on the true story of an energetic and independent courtesan named Ana Jacinta de São José ( pt: Ana Jacinta de São José ), a native of a mining town in the province of Arax , who lived in the XVIII century. and known as “Don Beja” (the film uses the modern pronunciation of “Beija”), which literally means “kiss”.
In love with Antonya Sampaya, a man from a conservative patriarchal family, Beija becomes a victim of the lustful Mota, the royal governor, who came to visit Arash. Beija witnesses the death of her grandfather, after which Mota abducts her and makes her a concubine in her rich estate in the village of Parakatu. To avenge him while he is away, Beija sleeps with other men in exchange for jewelry. After the emperor calls Motu to serve at the court, he releases the annoying Beiju, who by that time had accumulated a lot of wealth, and she returns to Arash to meet her lover, Anthony.
However, he had already given up hope of seeing Beiju again. He married a young girl Aninho. Rejected by Antonya, Beija swears not to love anyone else and establishes the hotel (in fact - a luxury brothel) "Zatoba", which shocked the conservative families of her province. Her main goal is to hurt Antony more painfully.
The hotel is thriving, Beija becomes an influential person, is engaged to João Carneiro of Mendonza, but still can not forget her lover Anthony. In the end, tormented by jealousy, she hires the slave Ramush to kill Antony, then repents and tries to stop him, but the crime is committed. She falls into court, but thanks to Ramush’s testimony, she is acquitted. Repenting, she leaves Arash and begins to lead an honest life.
