Biography
Concha Buika was born in the Balearic Islands , where her family lived, political immigrants of Equatorial Guinea . Father, Juan Balboa Boneke is a writer and former Guinean politician. Concha Buoy lives in the USA .
Interest in music Concha Bujka began to show since childhood. The poor area of Palma de Mallorca, where Bujka grew up, became her second home. She grew up among gypsy families and it was there that she discovered flamenco as a way of expressing true feelings and as an ideal way to get away from the difficult reality of poverty and marginality . The wealth of cultures that surrounded the singer since childhood was reflected both in the variety of performing talent and in the lyrics of her songs.
Creativity
Creativity Concha Buyka is not limited to any one musical genre. On the contrary, perceiving the combination of various genres as a very natural process, she boldly experiments with their mixing.

Career
The first Mestizüo disc was released in 2001
In 2008, the second disc “Niña de fuego” (Girl from the Fire) became the key to the start of an international career. After only a few concerts in Los Angeles , Miami and New York, the album was nominated for two nominations for the Latin Grammy Award (2008), as “album of the year” and “best arrangement”.
In September 2009, a collaborative hit was released with Nelly Furtado called Fuerte (strong), a hymn to the power of a woman.
In October 2009, the album El último trago (Last pile) was released, in honor of the 90th anniversary of Chavela Vargas and Bebo Valdes , recorded in Cuba with Chucho Valdes and his quartet . This album earned her first Grammy Award for "Best Traditional Tropical Album."
In November 2010, an article entitled “The Voice of Freedom” (“Voz de la libertad”), published on npr.com, included Concha Buyca on the list of 50 Great Voices [2]
Her two songs, Por el amor de amar and Se me hizo fácil, were chosen by Pedro Almodovar for his film “ The Skin I Live In ”
