Panney [1] ( indon. Bahasa Pannei ) - one of the Austronesian languages , is distributed on the island of Sulawesi - in the region of Polewali-Mandar Sulawesi Provinces ( Indonesia ). According to Ethnologue , the number of speakers of this language was 9 thousand people. in 1983 [2] .

Dialects
The following dialects are distinguished: bulo, tarango. Pannaea finds the closest kinship with the languages Bambam , Ulumanda and Aralle Tabulahan (the degree of linguistic similarity is 75% -80%) [2] .
