Biography

Evgeny Barmyantsev was born on December 10, 1943 in the city of Stalingrad (now Volgograd). By nationality - Russian.

After graduating from high school, in 1962 he entered and in 1965 graduated from the Tbilisi Higher Artillery Command School named after 26 Baku commissars . In 1975, Barmyantsev also graduated from the Military Diplomatic Academy of the Soviet Army.

From 1992 to 2001 he was a military attache at the embassy of the Russian Federation in Yugoslavia . In this position, in June 1999, he was directly involved in the development and support of the famous special operation - a march of the combined battalion of the Russian Airborne Forces , which is part of the International Peacekeeping Contingent in Bosnia and Herzegovina , to Pristina (the capital of the unrecognized state of Kosovo ). As a result of this march, the Russian military occupied the Slatina airport and foiled NATO plans for the occupation of Yugoslavia.

On February 19, 2000 , for courage and heroism shown during the performance of special tasks in life-threatening conditions, by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Evgeny Nikolayevich Barmyantsev was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation with the award of a special distinction - the Golden Star medal " .

Since November 2003, Lieutenant General Barmyantsev - retired. From August 2004 to April 2005 he worked as an adviser to the general director of the Third Option LLC, and from 2005 - the first deputy general director of Aviazapchast OJSC.

Died December 18, 2018.
