Biography

He was brought up in a believing family. He himself recalled his childhood: “As they say with us - I absorbed faith along with mother’s milk. <...> As far as I remember myself, I was always in the temple. Long services, they’ll put me in a corner somewhere. I remember very well the Resurrection Temple of Sarapul. <...> My maternal grandfather was the headman of this temple. Therefore, voluntarily and involuntarily (a child is a child, maybe I wanted to play), but I visited the temple. In my youth, as many young people do, I left the Church. There were years when I forgot everything I knew from childhood - the time of college. When I matured, I developed a craving for the Church ” [1] .

In 1970, he graduated from high school No. 13 and entered the Udmurt State Pedagogical Institute .

In 1976 he moved to Kazan , where, with the blessing of the Bishop of Kazan and Mari Panteleimon, he held various obediences in the St. Nicholas Cathedral .

On January 7, 1979, he was ordained deacon to the temple of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Chistopol . In the same year he entered the correspondence department of the Moscow Theological Seminary .

In 1980, he was transferred to the post of deacon in the Nativity of the Theotokos Church of Yoshkar-Ola of the Mari ASSR .

In 1983, he was ordained a priest and appointed clergyman of the Holy Trinity Church in Izhevsk, Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. He graduated from the Moscow Theological Seminary.

From 1985 to 1988 - rector of the Church of St. Tryphon of Vyatka in the village of Kamennoye Zadelye, Balezinsky District, Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. During this period, he began construction on the author’s project in Glazov of the first Soviet church in Udmurtia in the name of St. George the Victorious.

In 1988, he was appointed rector of the Assumption Church in Izhevsk.

Since 1990, with the blessing of the Bishop of Kazan and Mari, Anastasia (Metkina) was engaged in the construction and reconstruction of newly transferred churches in the cities of Volzhsk , Buinsk , Vasilievo . He began the first services at the Raifa Mother of God Monastery .

Since 1992, he was engaged in the restoration of churches and the establishment of parish life in Uva , Nylga , Kiyasov , Norye , Babin , Yuski , Buranovo .

In 1993, with the blessing of the Archbishop of Izhevsk and Udmurtia Nikolai (Shkrumko), he was appointed to the restoration of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral .

As part of a group of the Armed Forces of Russia, he was one of the first priests to feed military personnel in Chechnya .

In 1995, he was one of the founders of the organization of the Cossacks in Udmurtia. Later he was chosen as a military priest of the Verkhnekamsk Cossack society. He has five Cossack awards.

Since 2000, he oversaw the construction of Orthodox churches in Izhevsk: in the name of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, Holy Royal Martyrs, Saint Alexy of Moscow, Holy Cross Exaltation Chapel and the Resurrection Cemetery Church.

In 2004-2007, he directed the reconstruction of St. Michael's Cathedral in Izhevsk. He was the deputy head of this cathedral.

In 2005 he graduated in absentia from the Kiev Theological Academy .

In January 2009, he participated in the work of the Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church .

He was the head of the department of social ministry and church charity of the Izhevsk diocese.

Since 2010 - Member of the Public Council of the Office of the Federal Migration Service for the Udmurt Republic, the Public Council at the Investigative Committee of Udmurtia, the Public Council of the Federal Drug Control Service, the Clemency Commission under the President of Udmurtia.

In March 2011, he flatly rejected the proposal to lead the three clerics of the Izhevsk diocese who had gone into schism: Sergiy Kondakov, Mikhail Karpeev and Alexander Malykh [2] .

July 26, 2011 appointed Dean of the 1st Izhevsk District [1] .

Since 2012 - Member of the Public Chamber of the Udmurt Republic.

September 15, 2013 in the Peter and Paul Church of the Malo-Diveevo Seraphim Monastery in the village of Norya of the Udmurt Republic, Abbot Athanasius (Ninth) was tonsured a monk with the name Victorin in honor of the martyr Victorin [3] .

The consecration was completed by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, the Metropolitan of Saransk and Mordovia Barsanuphius (Sudakov) , the Metropolitan of Izhevsk and Udmurt Nikolai (Shkrumko) , the Bishop of Vyborg and Priozersky Ignatius (Punin) , the Bishop of Solnechnogorsk, Mikhayos (Chash) , Chishop (V) , Bishop of Smolensk and Vyazemsky Isidore (Tupikin) [6] .

From November 17 to November 28, 2014 in Moscow, he attended two-week continuing education courses for new bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church [7] [8] .

On May 5, 2015, by the decision of the Holy Synod, in connection with the retirement of Metropolitan Nicholas (Shkrumko) , Reverend Victorin was appointed ruling bishop of the Izhevsk and Udmurt diocese and was also appointed head of the Udmurt metropolis . He was also entrusted with the temporary administration of the Sarapul diocese [9] .

May 24, 2015 in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, Patriarch Kirill was elevated to the rank of Metropolitan [10] .
