Mamas [1] ( indon. Bahasa Mamasa ) is one of the Austronesian languages , distributed on the island of Sulawesi - in the region of Mamas in the province of Western Sulawesi ( Indonesia ). According to Ethnologue , the number of speakers of this language was 100 thousand people. in 1991 [2] .

Dialects
The following dialects are distinguished in the composition of the language: central, northern, Pattae (southern, Binuang, Binuang-Paki-Batetanga-Anteapi, Patta-Binuang, Tae). The Toraja-Sadan language (the degree of linguistic similarity is 78%) is among the mutually intelligible with the Ulumanda language [2] .
