Biography
Nikolay Usharov was born in 1896 . He served in the royal army, participated in the battles of the First World War . In January 1918, Usharov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. He participated in the battles of the Civil War in Central Asia, being a squadron commander, then intelligence chief, assistant head of the intelligence department of the headquarters of the 1st Fergana cavalry regiment. Since 1921, Usharov headed the intelligence department of the Samarkand region and the Bukhara group of forces, then held a number of other senior positions in units of the OGPU in Central Asia [1] .
Personally participated in the defeat of the Basmachi bandit formations. On the night of October 10-11, 1922, in the area of the settlement of Pikai-Kaduk, Usharov at the head of the squadron attacked the positions of the Basmachis. In the midst of the battle, Usharov was surrounded, but after destroying 3 basmachis, he turned the rest to flight [1] . By order of the Revolutionary Military Council of the Republic No. 193 dated July 23, 1923, the head of the intelligence department of the headquarters of the Bukhara group of forces Nikolay Usharov was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of the RSFSR [2] .
Later he graduated from the Institute of Oriental Languages, led the Soviet-Chinese trade. He participated in the Great Patriotic War, commanded the regiment, a separate battalion, was the deputy commander of the regiment. After the end of the war, the rank of lieutenant colonel Usharov was dismissed [1] .
He was awarded the Order of Lenin and two Orders of the Red Banner, along with a number of medals.
