Biography
Of the noble family of the Turchaninovs , whose founder is Turchak (baptized by Philip Trofimovich ) - a Turkish prisoner of war who came to Solikamsk after the war with the Turks in 1676-1681. Aleksey Turchaninov , the largest Ural breeder, came from this genus.
Alexander Nikolaevich belonged to the Smolensk branch of this genus. In the Smolensk province, the Turchaninovs have lived since the beginning of the 19th century. Received home education. May 11, 1857 graduated from the Imperial College of Law .
After graduating from college, he joined the Secretary of the Chancellery of the 2nd Branch of the 5th Department of the Governing Senate. At the end of 1859, he transferred to the Vyborg part of the city of St. Petersburg as a bailiff of investigative affairs, and then was transferred to the Karetnaya and the 3rd Admiralty parts. In 1863 he was appointed fellow chairman of the St. Petersburg Criminal Chamber. During court hearings he sought openness and publicity of defense.
He was invited for a meeting to the commission on the drafting of a new charter of criminal proceedings. April 17, 1866 was enlisted among the first 27 attorneys at the St. Petersburg Court of Justice, in accordance with the new judicial statutes of 1864 [1] .
Advocacy
He enjoyed great authority both among his clients and the public, and among his colleagues in advocacy.
Over the course of 30 years, he was elected to the council, as a fellow chairman and chairman of the council of jurors at the St. Petersburg Court of Justice.
He took part in many criminal and civil cases.
